Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated CT Technologist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care within a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be experienced in CT Scanning procedures, ensuring patient safety, image quality, and adherence to protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen patients for contraindications prior to scans
- Adhere to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures
- Accurately position patients and select appropriate imaging parameters based on physician orders and diagnostic needs
- Administer contrast materials as required, monitor for adverse reactions, and follow proper protocols for contrast safety.
- Review imaging results for quality, clarity, and diagnostic quality
- Maintain equipment and report any malfunctions
- Uphold ethical standards and advocate for patient rights, informed consent, and autonomy
- Properly document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR) or PACS system (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Paragon)
- Prioritize workload and manage time effectively in fast-paced environments
- Practice in accordance with current evidence-based standards and hospital protocols
- Collaborate with other radiologists and referring providers to ensure optimal imaging quality and accurate diagnostic results.
- Foster a culture of safety by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted CT Tech license (State-specific if required)
- 1–2 years of recent experience in the designated unit/specialty
- BLS certification (CPR AHA) – required
- ARRT (MR) certification (Advanced ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) preferred). Current unrestricted license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of Radiology Technologist-CT technologist experience preferred.
- Other certifications specific to the Unit
- Proficiency in operating CT scanners and PACS/RIS systems
- Proficient with EMR systems (Epic, Meditech, Cerner, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and best practices across all age groups
- Unit-specific certifications (as applicable)
