Job Summary

We are currently seeking a licensed and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team in New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will be experienced in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. This role requires excellent clinical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and develop individualized respiratory care plans in collaboration with physicians
  • Administer respiratory therapies, treatments, and medications as ordered (e.g., oxygen therapy, nebulizers, chest physiotherapy)
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy and adjust care plans accordingly
  • Manage ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe adequately on their own
  • Conduct diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and pulmonary function tests (PFTs)
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and equipment usage
  • Comply with all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and infection control standards
  • Maintain equipment and ensure all devices are functioning properly and safely
  • Participate in emergency response situations, including Code Blue, as needed
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and answering questions
  • Adhere to infection control standards and facility protocols
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Current RRT or CRT credential from the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
  • Active New Hampshire Respiratory Care Practitioner license
  • Current BLS (CPR AHA) certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
  • Proficiency in using digital imaging systems and PACS software
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
